Zakho... The passing of one of the Peshmerga of the September and Kulan revolutions at the age of 79 years
ARK News… In the city of Zakho in the Kurdistan Region, one of the Peshmerga of the September and Gulan Revolutions, the national and social figure, Ramadan Ali Rashid, on Friday, February 16, 2024, died at the age of 79 years.
Family sources told ARK News website that the fighter Ramadan Ali Rashid died after a long struggle with illness, as he was injured by shrapnel in the head in 1995 in defense of the legitimacy of Kurdistan and its achieved gains.
He was buried in the Kharababki cemetery in the city of Zakho, Kurdistan Region.

He was born in 1945 in the village of Qilidman, in the city of Derik, in Syrian Kurdistan.
He joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria in 1962.
In the prime of his youth, he joined the September and Gulan Revolutions in 1965 with his two brothers, Brigadier General Hussein Ali Rashid, nicknamed (Hussein Sori), holder of the Immortal Barzani Medal, and his brother Muhammad Ali Rashid.
He participated in many battles against dictatorial regimes in Iraq.
In 1974, he was injured in the battles between the heroic Peshmerga forces and the defunct dictatorial regime in Iraq.
He immigrated to Iran in 1975.
In the battles to defend the legitimacy of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament and Government in 1995, he was injured by shrapnel in the head and became paralyzed, suffering from a disability in movement and speech.
