Suwayda demonstrations continue, with demands to reveal the fate of prisoners of conscience
ARK News… Demonstrations demanding the overthrow of the Syrian regime continue in Suwayda Governorate, southern Syria, and are witnessing an expanding public momentum to include all segments of society in all its areas.
On Tuesday, February 13, 2024, Karama Square in the center of the city of Suwayda witnessed a demonstration that included dozens of participants from the city’s residents, carrying slogans demanding political change and the implementation of relevant UN resolutions.
The demonstrators expressed their rejection of the regime, demanding its overthrow, chanting the following slogans: “Your goal is to plunder the country, leave,” “In short, leave,” and “We want to reveal the fate of prisoners of conscience.”
The people of Suwayda continue their peaceful uprising, which broke out last August due to the deterioration of the living and security situation. Then the ceiling of demands increased to demand political change and the implementation of UN Resolution 2254, which guarantees the achievement of a peaceful transfer of power through democratic elections under the supervision of the United Nations.
