The people are upset... The PYD administration raises the price of a gas cylinder to $10 in Syrian Kurdistan
ARK News… The PYD administration raised the price of a gas cylinder in the cities and towns of Syrian Kurdistan and other areas under its control to 10 US dollars, amid the dissatisfaction of the people.
Local source reported to ARK News, on Sunday, January 28, 2024, that the PYD administration raised the price of a gas cylinder distributed through its communes in the areas under its control to 10 US dollars in its communes, under the pretext of importing natural gas from the Kurdistan Region.
He explained that this decision aroused dissatisfaction with the people in light of the economic conditions the region is going through and the lack of balance between citizens’ income and prices.
He added that diesel fuel is missing at gas stations, and citizens are forced to buy free fuel oil for 4,300 Syrian pounds from the markets.
The severe fuel crisis in the areas under the control of the PYD administration comes at a time when the PYD administration continues to send oil resources to the areas under the control of the Syrian regime and armed factions.
The cities and towns of Syrian Kurdistan under the control of the PYD administration suffer from a lack of electricity and basic services after the recent Turkish bombing of the region, which has increased their suffering.
