ARK News… Two days after the kidnapping, engineer Akram Hussein, a member of the General Secretariat of the Kurdish National Council in Syria and head of the executive body of the Future Movement of Syrian Kurdistan, was released.
On the morning of Wednesday, January 24, 2024, an armed group led by the PYD kidnapped engineer Akram Hussein, head of the executive body of the Syrian Kurdistan Future Movement, and a member of the General Secretariat of the Kurdish National Council in Syria, in front of his house located in the city of Qamishlo, after removing him from his private car and taking him to an anonymous destination.
The Kurdish National Council in Syria condemned the kidnapping of engineer Akram Hussein and all intimidating practices against citizens, and called for his immediate release and an end to these practices that contradict the most basic human rights.
The Future Movement of Syrian Kurdistan held the PYD authorities fully responsible for his safety, and called on the international community and human rights organizations to confront this reckless act, and to contribute to curbing and ending this ongoing pattern of intimidating violations.
