Ten years, the fate of Amir Hamid remains unknown
ARK News: Thursday, January 11, 2024, marks the pass of the tenth anniversary of the kidnapping of the activist Amir Hamid, by the Democratic Union Party (PYD) militants in the city of Derbasiya, in Syrian Kurdistan.
Activist Amir Hamid was kidnapped, on January 11, 2014, by an armed group affiliated with the Democratic Union Party (PYD) from his home in Derbasiya.
Hamid is one of the lists that the Kurdish National Council in Syria has handed over to the PYD administration to release them and reveal their fate, as a condition for rapprochement and unification of the Kurdish speech.
However, a statement issued by the Syrian Democratic Forces issued denied the PYD's responsibility for knowing eight of the kidnappers who are demanding by the National Council for their release. The statement claimed that their abduction took place before the PYD administration forming.
