Hasakah: An ISIS intelligence official was arrested

ARK News… The International Coalition announced the arrest of a prominent leader of the terrorist organization ISIS, after a raid in Hasakah in Syrian Kurdistan.

The Joint Task Force - Operation Azim Al Salb said in a statement, “Partner forces supported by coalition forces took control of a major ISIS target on December 28.”

It noted that "partner forces with the coalition forces carried out a raid in Hasakah Governorate," after extensive planning to ensure its successful conduct and implementation.

“The detained individual was responsible for intelligence gathering and communications for ISIS operations in the Syrian-Iraqi border area,” the statement said.

“These operations reaffirm the commitment of the Joint Special Operations Task Force – Al Sham and its partner forces to stability in the region and the enduring defeat of ISIS,” said Major Joseph Booth, spokesman for the Joint Special Operations Forces.

He added, "Arresting this individual will disrupt the terrorist organization's ability to plan and carry out global attacks that threaten American citizens, our partners, and innocent civilians."

Pointing out that ISIS "remains a threat to the United States and its partners in the region. The Joint Task Force maintains a sustainable presence in the region and will continue to confront threats to regional security."
