Air strikes on vital sites under SDF control in response to the killing of Turkish soldiers

ARK News... Turkish forces carried out eight air strikes on vital sites under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Saturday evening, December 23, 2023, in response to the killing of six Turkish soldiers in the Kurdistan Region.

Local sources revealed precise details about the targeted sites and the damage resulting from these strikes.

In statements to ARK News, informed sources explained that “Turkish forces targeted eight sites, which included 4 sites in the Tirbaspiye town, east of the city of Qamishlo city, one site near of Derik city, and three sites in Manbij.”

These sources confirmed that “the air strikes resulted in forcing the (Syrian Democratic Forces) to evacuate their headquarters and move away from the targeted sites.

The targeted sites in the Tirbaspiye area were the Tal Oda oil station, the headquarters of the Agricultural Bank, and the Saeeda oil station in the countryside of Derik, an air strike targeted a station in the village of Bani Shikafte in the Kocharat region.

In confirmation of the impact of these attacks, the Self-Administration of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) announced the disruption of the conversion stations and the Suwaidiya gas facility in the Derik countryside as a result of the Turkish bombing, which led to the cessation of the gas and oil facilities that secure the gas necessary to generate electrical energy.

Earlier, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the success of the Turkish Air Force in carrying out air strikes targeting “terrorist targets” in northern Syria and Iraq, where 29 targets were destroyed, including hideouts and shelters hosting “terrorist leaders,” oil facilities, and warehouses used by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
