The Kurdish National Council discusses several issues with the German Embassy in Beirut

ARK News… The Presidency of the Kurdish National Council in Syria, in an online meeting with the First Secretary of the German Embassy in Beirut, discussed the importance of accelerating the political solution in Syria in accordance with international resolutions.

Faisal Youssef, the official spokesman for the Kurdish National Council, said in a statement: “At the invitation of David Budd, First Secretary of the German Embassy in Beirut, and with the participation of Azzam Tohme, an analyst at the embassy, an (online) meeting was held on December 21, 2023 with the Council’s Presidency.”

Youssef stated that the topics raised "centered on the importance of accelerating the political solution and activating the political process in Syria in accordance with international resolutions and Resolution 2254," stopping the violations and demographic change taking place in the regions of Afrin, Serê Kaniye and Girê Spî, and the importance of expanding the circle of providing humanitarian aid to include the Kurdish regions.

The meeting touched on "the fate of the negotiations that took place between the Kurdish National Council and (the National Unity Parties (PYNK)) and the importance of the participation of all components in managing the region, supporting stability in it, and stopping the tyrannical practices and violations committed against the Council and its counterpart by the administration of the Democratic Union Party (PYD)."

Faisal Youssef explained, "The German side affirmed Germany's continued support for the political solution and the implementation of Resolution 2254 and the negotiations taking place in Geneva, and their rejection of the violations taking place by anyone, and the necessity of respecting human rights and providing security and stability."

In conclusion, the two sides stressed "the necessity of continuing such meetings to exchange views on the region and Syria in general."
