Turkey reveals details of the killing of SDF leader
ARK News… The Turkish authorities revealed their responsibility for the killing of a member of the leadership of the "Deir Ez-Zour Military Council" of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Sherwan Hassan, nicknamed "Roni Walat", during an operation in Deir Ez-Zour Governorate.
The Turkish Anatolia Agency quoted security sources on Sunday, December 17, 2023, saying, “The intelligence service carried out an operation on December 5 of this year in Deir Ez-Zour, which is about 230 km away from Turkey, against Sherwan Hassan, by targeting him directly, after determining his location,” without specifying the nature of targeting.
According to the agency, Sherwan Hassan worked within the ranks of the Kurdistan Workers' Party and moved to Syria after 2013.
Turkey continues to target the positions of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the latter's areas of control in some cities of Syrian Kurdistan and other areas through drones, describing them as officials of the "Kurdistan Workers' Party."
