Turkey deports more than 11,000 Syrians within two months

ARK News… Syrian media outlets revealed that the administration of the Bab al-Hawa crossing in the countryside of Idlib city documented the deportation of more than “2,500” Syrians from Turkey during the past month.

According to the Syria Channel website, the administration of the Bab al-Hawa border crossing in the Idlib countryside documented the deportation of “2,679” Syrians from Turkey to Syrian territory through the crossing only, during the month of November 2023.

For its part, the administration of the Bab al-Salama border crossing said on its page on the social networking site “Facebook” that the number of Syrians returning from Turkey to Syria under the name of “voluntary return” reached “2,921” people during the month of last November.

Syria Channel revealed that the Turkish authorities asked the administration of the border crossings run by the Syrian Interim Government, most notably Bab al-Salama and Tal Abyad, not to mention the term “deportation” or forced returnees in the monthly statistics, and to replace that with the description “voluntary return.”

According to the Syria Channel, during the month of October 2023, the Turkish authorities deported approximately “9” thousand Syrians to northern Syria from the Bab al-Hawa and Bab al-Salama crossings, in addition to the Tal Abyad crossing north of Raqqa. The administration of the Bab al-Salama border crossing said that the number of Syrians returning from Turkey to Syria was under the so-called “voluntary return” amounted to “4,338” people during the month of October 2023.
