Nov 27 2023

ARK News… Israeli aircraft carried out air strikes on military sites in the Syrian capital, Damascus, and initial reports indicated that the Mezzeh military and Damascus international airports were out of service.

The Voice of the Capital website said that explosions shook the vicinity of the Syrian capital, Damascus, today, Sunday, 26/11/2023, and reports indicate that Israeli warplanes targeted military sites in the vicinity of the city.

According to the Voice of the Capital website, Israeli aircraft targeted Mezzeh Military Airports and Damascus International Airport, and both airports were out of service.

For its part, media outlets loyal to the Syrian regime said that the Israeli raids targeted the runways of Damascus International Airport a few hours after it announced its return to work after a hiatus that lasted for more than a month as a result of a previous Israeli attack.

The media confirmed that, as a result of the targeting, flights scheduled to land at Damascus International Airport were diverted minutes after the Israeli raids.

The media added that Israeli aircraft launched two separate rounds of air strikes, initially targeting air defense systems, followed by targeting the runways of Damascus International Airport.

Recently, Israel targeted Aleppo and Damascus international airports under the pretext that Iran is using them to transport weapons and military equipment to Syria, and in response to the launching of missiles from Syrian territory towards Israel. The targeting led to the two airports being out of service after sustaining major damage, which created great pressure on Latakia Airport as it remained The only airport serving international flights in Syria.
