ARK News... Dr. Abdel Hakim Bachar, Vice President of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, on Saturday, November 25, 2023, said that the new leadership of the coalition is working to follow a new policy regarding the Syrian situation in general, and the coalition’s emphasis on the need to hold perpetrators of crimes accountable is an important and positive step.

Dr. Abdel Hakim Bachar, Vice President of the Syrian National Coalition, said in exclusive statements to ARK, “The beginning of the establishment of the coalition was able to remove international legitimacy, while it was suffering from popular representation at home, and it is working at this stage to gain legitimacy inside Syria and represent them effectively.”

Bachar confirmed, "We had a meeting within the coalition two days ago, and in this regard, the coalition issued a clear statement, discussing a number of important topics and making a number of decisions and recommendations, the first of which is putting an end to the violations practiced in the liberated areas, and punishing the violators, and I see it as an important and new step."

He continued by saying, “The second point is the emphasis on ending the taxes imposed on the people and the Ministry of Finance taking over the tax issue and the necessity of preventing the imposition and collection of any taxes except by the Ministry. The third revolved around the emphasis on holding accountable the perpetrators of crimes in all Syrian regions.”

Dr. Abdel Hakim Bachar, Vice President of the National Coalition for Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, affirmed at the end of his speech, "As Vice President, I support this new policy and its implementation."

The General Authority of the Syrian National Coalition held its 69th session of meetings, Thursday, November 23, 2023, in the Aleppo countryside, and issued a final statement that addressed many political and field issues related to Syria.

The final statement stressed the importance of measures that serve the framework of achieving justice through steps to hold accountable the perpetrators of war crimes and crimes against humanity against innocent people, praising the judicial procedures in France, and the efforts of the Netherlands and Canada in the International Court of Justice.
