The explosion of a gas cylinder in a house in Kobani, on Thursday, November 2, 2023, led to a fire in which a family consisting of three people (Saeed Muhammad Khalil, 30 years old, Jihan Saeed Khalil, 29 years old, and their child Jalal Saeed Khalil, 3 years old) suffered burns. They were taken to a hospital in Duhok, Kurdistan Region.
Our correspondent reported that the injured were transferred to the Burns and Plastic Surgery Hospital in Dohuk, and after 6 days, the child Jalal Saeed Khalil died yesterday morning as a result of his severe injury, and after they were transferred to Erbil, the mother died today, while her husband’s health condition remains critical.
The child's body was transported through the Pishabour border crossing between the Kurdistan Region and Syrian Kurdistan to be buried in his hometown in the village of Sheikh Ghali (Şêxalî). Mrs. Jihan's body is scheduled to be transported to her hometown of Kobani, according to our correspondent in Erbil.
