ARK News… on Thursday, November 2, 2023, marked the thirteenth anniversary of the passing of the freedom fighter Hajj Daham Miro, the former secretary of the Kurdish Democratic Party in Syria, the current PDK-S.

The freedom fighter Daham Miro was born in 1921 in the village of Se Girka Miro - Derik region in Syrian Kurdistan. He assumed the leadership of the Kurdish Democratic Party in Syria (the Party) at the Nubardan Conference in 1970, as the two parties of the Party were unified in that conference, which was called the Union Conference, under the supervision of the immortal Barzani.

In 1972, at the first conference of the party in the Bamerni region of the Kurdistan Region, he was elected secretary of the party.

In 1973, after a statement published by Al-Party against the “Arab Racist Belt” project and as a result of his patriotic and nationalist stances against the regime’s policy, he was arrested by the Syrian regime and remained in prison for 6 years and 8 months.

Hajj Daham Miro was one of the brave fighters in the liberation movement for the people of Kurdistan, and a close friend of the immortal Barzani. He participated in the September Revolution. He also participated in a number of Kurdistan Democratic Party conferences as an observer.

The activist Daham Miro, former secretary of the Kurdish Democratic Party in Syria (Party), died on Tuesday afternoon, 02/11/2010, at the age of 90.

His body was buried on Wednesday, November 3, 2010, to his hometown in the village of Mozalan, and he was buried there.
