Two months after the loss of a young man from Afrin: We hired a lawyer, but to no avail
ARK News… The contact was lost with the young man, Hawar Ismail Hussein, who is from the city of Afrin in Syrian Kurdistan, after he was trying to reach Greece from Turkey two months ago, and the young man’s uncle appealed to relevant humanitarian organizations to help uncover his fate.
Arif Omar Abdi, the young man’s uncle, said in special statements to ARK, on Sunday, October 29, 2023, that “Hawar tried, two months ago, through Edirne, Turkey, through illegal means, to reach Greece, and since that time until now, there has been no news about him or his fate.”
He continued, "We tried through humanitarian and charity organizations and appointed a lawyer for him to find out his fate, but to no avail and we were unable to obtain any information about him, whether he was alive or had been deported to Syria."
Arif Omar Abdi appealed to the relevant authorities and organizations concerned with refugee and displaced persons affairs to extend a helping hand in revealing his fate.
The young man, Hawar Ismail Hussein, is nineteen years old, comes from the village of Quri Gol in Afrin, and was residing in Turkey.
Dozens of Kurds and Arabs take the “death” roads to Europe every day through smuggling. Hundreds have lost their lives on this road, and the fate of hundreds remains unknown.
