The Dr. Noraddin Zaza Center in Amouda organizes a seminar on the life of Dr. Noraddin Zaza
ARK News… The Dr. Nour al-Din Zaza Center in the city of Amouda in Syrian Kurdistan invited you to attend the seminar that is organizing on the life of the late Kurdish activist Dr. Noraddin Zaza.
The Center in its invitation, on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, stated that writer and researcher Connie Rush will deliver the symposium and a number of city figures will be honored during the symposium.
The symposium will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, at the office of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, at 11 am, next to Ammar Bin Yasser School.
Dr. Zaza is one of the founders of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria on June 14, 1957 and its first president.
A brief about his life:
-Dr. Noraddin Zaza was born in 1919 in a village at the headwaters of the Tigris River between Amed and Al-Aziz in Kurdistan, Turkey, from an ancient family.
-One of the founders, and head of the first Kurdish party in Syria, the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria.
-He studied in Beirut and after obtaining his university degree, he traveled to Switzerland to complete his postgraduate studies.
-He founded the Association of Kurdish Students in Europe in 1949 with a number of his friends, and they issued the “Voice of Kurdistan” magazine.
-He completed his doctorate in educational sciences in 1956 and then returned to Syria.
-He made with some of his political friends Othman Sabri, Muhammad Ali Khoja, Shawkat Naas an, Dr. Khalil Muhammad, Rashid Hamo, Hamza Nuweran, Hamid Haj Darwish, founding the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria in 1957 and thus was the first Kurdish party in Syria and was its president.
-He was arrested with his friends in 1960 by the authorities of the federal state (Syria and Egypt)
-Dr. Noraddin Zaza ran for the parliamentary elections in 1961, but he did not succeed because of fraud by the authorities, and he was arrested and then released from prison to Lebanon and then arrested there as well. When he decided to return to Syria, the regime was nationalistic and Baathist, so he was arrested and then exiled to the governorate Suwayda, Syria.
-In 1967 he fled to Turkey, but the Turkish authorities chased after him, so he fled to Switzerland for the last days of his life.
-The doctor has many articles published in Hawar magazine and Ronahi Kurdish magazine. In 1982, he published the book “My Kurdish Life”
-He married a Swiss girl who was interested in Kurdish affairs, and they had a son named Shango Valery
-He died in Lausanne 07/10/1988 and was buried in the Lausanne Cemetery
-Among his published books are:

-The Kurdish Shepherd novel - by Arab Shamo - translated from French into Kurdish
-A poetry collection in Kurdish entitled “The War of Freedom”

The head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, the fighter, Noraddin Zaza, died in Lausanne on October 7, 1988 and was buried in the cemetery of Lausanne, Switzerland.
