Sep 25 2023

ARK News… A source at the Iraqi Oil Marketing Company (SOMO) said that the Kurdistan Region's oil will soon be exported for the first time as a test via Turkey.

The source revealed that a delegation from SOMO, the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, and the Kurdistan Region visited Turkey and visited the oil pipeline with the Turkish side to re-export oil from the Kurdistan Region.

Regarding the date for resuming the export of Kurdistan oil via Turkey, the source indicated that oil will soon be exported for the first time as a test via Turkey.

The export of oil through the Turkish port of Ceyhan has been stopped since March 25, 2023, and according to the agreement concluded between Erbil and Baghdad, the Kurdistan Region must deliver 400,000 barrels of oil per day to SOMO, in exchange for the region receiving financial dues from Baghdad.
