America welcomes the discussions between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government

ARK News… The US Department of State, on Friday, September 15, 2023, welcomed the ongoing discussions between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government in Baghdad, regarding the monthly salaries of employees and workers in the public sector in the region and Kurdistan’s share of the budget.

Regarding the visit made by a delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government yesterday, Thursday, to the federal capital, Baghdad, headed by the region’s Prime Minister, Masrour Barzani, to discuss this matter, the US State Department told K24 that it welcomes the continuation of discussions between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the central government in Baghdad.

The US State Department called on officials to solve problems related to the budget, based on the Constitution, and in a manner that is in the interest of all Iraqis.

The regional government delegation arrived in Baghdad on Thursday morning, and met with the Federal Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani, the President of the Republic Abdul Latif Rashid, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives Muhammad al-Halbousi, in addition to meeting with most of the leaders of the Iraqi political parties.
