The Kurdistan Regional Government decides to start free cochlear implantation
ARK News... The Kurdistan Regional Government announced the start of cochlear implant operations for free, starting this week, after equipping the region's hospitals with supplies for these operations.
The Minister of Health of the region, Saman Barzanji, said in a press conference that the Council of Ministers of the Kurdistan Regional Government headed by Masrour Barzani allocated a sum of money of about two billion and 250 million dinars for the purchase of hearing aids (cochlear), the price of one of which is 15 million dinars.
He added, "The operations will be carried out free of charge in the region's hospitals, starting this week."
Cochlear implants are a way to treat people who are deaf or hard of hearing. This cochlear implant is a small electronic device that measures and processes sounds.
