ARK News… The President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, on Saturday, March 11, 2023, issued a statement on the occasion of the anniversary of the March 11 agreement, stressing the radical and constitutional solution to the problems with the federal government.

The Prime Minister said in the statement: “Today we salute the March 11th agreement, that agreement that the Iraqi government was forced, 53 years ago, to sign and recognize in it part of the demands of the Kurdistan people, which would not have been achieved without the steadfastness of this people and their resistance that they established in the glorious September revolution under the leadership of the immortal Barzani.

He added, "The agreement of March 11, 1970, constitutes an important achievement for the Kurdish people and irrefutable evidence showing a clear victory for their demands and peaceful message, which has always wanted to resolve differences through dialogue, negotiation, and peaceful means, but unfortunately the Iraqi government has reneged on the promises it made and did not fulfill its agreements with the leadership of the Kurdish people." Rather, it resumed its attacks on Kurdistan relentlessly. As a result of the aggressive policies pursued by the Iraqi regime at the time, the Kurdistan Region and Iraq in general suffered from devastating wars, devastation, and major tragedies, for which the people of Kurdistan are still paying the price without being compensated for the tragedies they suffered.

Masrour Barzani concluded his statement by saying: "On this occasion, we renew our firm and firm position in defending our constitutional rights and not giving them up, and resolving contentious issues radically based on the constitution."
