With names and pictures... Victims of the boat sinking off the Libyan coast

ARK News... Migrants from Syrian Kurdistan lost their lives by drowning off the Libyan coast while trying to reach the Italian shores.

Local sources told AR, on Monday, March 6, 2023, that immigrants, including women and children, drowned off the Libyan coast, and the small boat was carrying 27 people.

The sources indicated that most of the victims were from the city of Kobani, including 6 from one family, namely: Haji Weso Ahmed (29 years old), his brother Mahmoud Weso Ahmed (30 years old), Berivan Muhammad Fathi, the wife of Mahmoud Weso (27 years old), and their three sons: Land (7 years old). Lawand (5 years) and Fouad (4 years) are from the village of Bira Mamme, in addition to Bakr Mahmoud (30 years) from the village of Qichik.

Mrs. Aida Jamil Hamid, the wife of Abdo Shukri Hamid, and his two daughters, Aya and Diana, were among the victims of the boat sinking and also lost their lives. The family originally descended from Mabata town and before their displacement to Aleppo lived in the town of Basouta in Afrin, Syrian Kurdistan.

The fate of some is still unknown.

Dozens of Kurdish refugees from Syrian Kurdistan have lost their lives in recent months in the Mediterranean, fleeing the tragic conditions in the region.
