ARK News… Siabolella Mandela, the grandson of the African activist Nelson Mandela, visited Halabja Governorate on Thursday.

The District Commissioner of Halabja, Nokhsha Nasih, welcomed in a press conference the grandson of the African fighter, who she indicated was a symbol of courage and struggle for freedom and human rights.

She continued by saying, “Today we are proud of the visit of one of the descendants of the fighter Nelson Mandela to the city of Halabja, as his visit to the city comes to stand up to the suffering and tragedies it was subjected to in the eighties of the last century after it was bombed with chemical weapons, which led to the death and injury of thousands of the city’s residents.”

Siabolella Mandela, who is currently in the Kurdistan Region to participate in a seminar, has stated that there is sympathy between the people of South Africa and Kurdistan and that the people of Kurdistan, like other peoples in the world, have the right to independence.
