Dr. Jotyar Adel said, in a press conference, attended by (BasNews) correspondent: "The Kurdistan Regional Government with the solution of all outstanding issues and problems between the two sides, because we believe that any agreement between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government will be in the interest of all Iraqis, and we are sure That the constitution is the only way to reach an agreement with the federal government, we want a real partnership with Baghdad within the framework of federal Iraq.
He added, "A legal delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government has returned to Baghdad today, and will meet with the Federal Ministry of Oil, and will discuss some issues related to the budget with the concerned parties in the government."
He denied what was circulated by local Iraqi media about the sale of oil for 50 years, stating, "The Kurdistan Regional Government has talked about this issue in the past and on several occasions. We did not sell oil to Turkey, but rather we have an agreement concluded with it about exporting oil through it through a pipeline."
He explained that "there is an oil transfer agreement with Turkey, not selling it for fifty years," adding that "when the budget was cut off from the Kurdistan Region by Baghdad in 2014, we were forced to export oil abroad to secure the sums and expenses," stressing that "the issue of oil and gas in Iraq He still suffers from a problem, due to the failure to legislate the oil and gas law.”
During the press conference, the spokesman for the Kurdistan Regional Government also touched on the visit of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region to France and the UAE, indicating that "the position of the Kurdistan Region is getting stronger day by day, and the countries of the region are looking forward to cooperation and support for the experience of the region, as there is a good understanding and desire for agreement and coordination between the region and between these countries."
