The Kurdistan Democratic Party confirms its return to open all its headquarters in Kirkuk
ARK News… The Kurdistan Democratic Party confirmed that it will reopen all of its headquarters in Kirkuk, in order to consolidate civil peace and the social fabric of Kirkuk, stressing that some of the provocative statements issued by groups claiming political representation that does not exist on the ground will not be able to change its political, peaceful and legal path.
The Kirkuk-Garmiyan Governorate Organization Office of the party, on Friday, February 24, 2023, issued an explanatory statement about the return of the headquarters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
The clarification referred to media statements issued from time to time, "convulsive and full of threatening and intimidating expressions against the security and stability of Kirkuk," pointing out that some groups that claim political representation that does not exist on the ground aim to "abort any peaceful steps that would bring security and lasting peace to the province."
The statement also pointed out that "these meager blocs produce populist discourses that are not related to the political, security and social reality in Kirkuk and are not based on the balance of power on the ground, nor on the aspirations of the citizens of Kirkuk, but they express in form, content and improvisational agendas driven by narrow interests and reactionary ideas and pushed by various known parties."
From its side, the Kurdistan Democratic Party stressed that these resonant statements "will not be able to change the political, peaceful and legal path that we adopt to correct all the abnormal conditions that prevail in the province," stressing that "Kirkuk will not separate from its identity, nor will it separate from the Kurdistan Democratic Party."
The clarification expressed the Kurdistan Democratic Party's desire to reassure all the components of Kirkuk that "it will return to open all its headquarters and through clear and direct agreements with the Iraqi government, through which we will secure civil peace and the social fabric of Kirkuk. We will not be deterred from that by the empty noise that such statements raise, and we will stand with all. The components of Kirkuk are against any groups that try to threaten civil peace.
He concluded the clarification by recalling the mighty role of the party in Kirkuk, where "we protected this city from ISIS in the most difficult circumstances and liberated its areas from terrorist organizations, so the people of the province will not allow anyone to tamper with the security and stability of their city."
