Turkey… The death toll from the earthquake rose to 36,187
On Tuesday, the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) announced that the death toll from the earthquake in the south of the country had risen to 36,187.
And AFAD indicated in a statement, reported by the Anadolu Agency, that about 196,000 people affected by the earthquake have been evacuated from the disaster-stricken states.
It reported that 35,249 search and rescue workers are working in the affected areas, including international teams.
She explained that the number of search and rescue teams coming from other countries reached 9,456.
She pointed out that the total number of personnel operating in the earthquake zone from various official and unofficial institutions and agencies reached 249,89 people.
At the dawn of February 6, a double earthquake struck southern Turkey and northern Syria, the first with a magnitude of 7.7 and the second with 7.6 degrees, with hundreds of violent aftershocks, which left huge losses of lives and property in both countries.
