Turkey… Rescue of a baby 140 hours after the earthquake
ARK News… Turkish firefighting teams succeeded in rescuing a 7-month-old baby from under the rubble in Hatay province, 140 hours after the earthquake disaster in the south of the country.
The Greater Kojali Municipality Presidency said, in a statement, that its firefighting teams rescued the infant Hamza from under the rubble of a building in the Antakya region of Hatay.
The statement indicated that the teams removed Hamza, who is 7 months old, after staying for 140 hours under the rubble, and handed him over to an ambulance team to be transferred to the hospital.
At dawn on Monday, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck southern Turkey and northern Syria, followed hours later by another with a magnitude of 7.6 and hundreds of violent aftershocks, which left huge losses of lives and property in both countries.
