Afrin… Five were arrested and three civilians were kidnapped in Afrin
ARK News... The military police in the Jenderes and Shiye town of Afrin, in Syrian Kurdistan, arrested five civilians, four of whom were Kurds and the other from the Arab component, according to a report by the Human Rights Organization in Afrin issued on February 1, 2023.
The organization said that three civilians from the city of Al-Bab were kidnapped by an unknown armed group in the city center of Afrin, with the aim of asking for a ransom, and the three civilians were on their way to Idlib governorate.
In this regard, the organization added that five civilians were arrested from the town of Jenderes and Shiye on charges of dealing with the PYD administration.
The organization confirmed that arrests and kidnappings continue in the city of Afrin and its environs and villages, without deterrence.
