President Barzani: The Federal Court is now replacing the (Revolutionary Court) during the era of the previous regime
ARK News... On Wednesday, President Masoud Barzani issued a statement to public opinion in Iraq and Kurdistan, regarding the recent position of the Iraqi Federal Court.
In his statement, President Barzani expressed his regret at the other hostile stance taken by the Iraqi Federal Court once again towards the Kurdistan Region, after the federal government prevented the sending of money that was supposed to be sent to the region.
He added, "The main problem here is not the amount of money, but rather the flagrant violation of rights and principles," pointing out that "everyone understands that our participation in the coalition to administer the state and form the new Iraqi government was based on a clear and detailed program agreed upon by all parties."
President Barzani said, "The financial dues of the Kurdistan Region are a legitimate right, and part of the agreed program."
He continued, "The Federal Court's decision today, and before it is against the Kurdistan Region, is against the political process, against the Iraqi government, and against the program of the State Administration Coalition."
And he went on to say, "What is surprising is that whenever there is a positive atmosphere between the region and Baghdad, and whenever there is an opportunity to solve problems, the Federal Court takes the initiative to abort that opportunity with a hostile decision, which has complicated the problems."
President Barzani said in his statement that the Federal Court "appears to be implementing a suspicious agenda, and is now replacing the (Revolutionary Court) during the era of the previous regime."
President Barzani called on "the Iraqi government and the parties affiliated with the state administration coalition to declare their position on the violations of the Federal Court and its hostility against the interests of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region."
