The content of the meeting with Masrour Barzani and the commander of the coalition forces in Iraq and Syria

ARK News... The President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, on Sunday, January 15, 2023, received the Commander-in-Chief of the International Coalition Forces in Iraq and Syria, General Matthew McFarlane.

In the meeting, they discussed the latest developments and developments in Iraq and the region, in addition to discussing the continuation of supporting the Peshmerga forces in confronting terrorism and the threats posed by ISIS terrorists, and the importance of protecting border security.

The Commander-in-Chief of the International Coalition Forces in Iraq and Syria referred to the progress made regarding security coordination and cooperation between the Peshmerga and the Iraqi army in combating terrorism, especially in the past year, stressing the importance of strengthening this coordination in order to bridge existing security gaps in the areas covered by Article 140 of the Constitution.

The prime minister thanked the United States and the coalition forces for their continuous support to the Peshmerga forces in the war on terrorism, and the reforms in the joints of the Peshmerga Ministry.

The Prime Minister also gave a briefing on the results of the high government delegation's visit to Baghdad and the meeting with the Federal Prime Minister, especially with regard to strengthening cooperation and security coordination between the Peshmerga and the Iraqi army.
