The Counter-Terrorism announces the overthrow of two terrorist networks in Erbil
ARK News… The Counter-Terrorism Service in the Kurdistan Region, on Monday, announced the overthrow of two terrorist networks linked to ISIS, which was about to carry out bombings and terrorist attacks in the capital, Erbil, ahead of the New Year.
The Kurdistan Region Security Council issued a statement confirming the arrest of the two networks, explaining that in December 2022 the Asayish forces were able to thwart two attack attempts by two terrorist networks in the city of Erbil.
The statement added that four people who were part of the two networks were arrested and were being directed by the leaders of ISIS.
It indicated that the first network includes (Hamza Iyad Ahmed), known as (Sayyaf Al-Qurayshi) and (Muhajer Ahmed Al-Azzawi), known as (Abu Ja’far). They were arrested on December 23, 2022, when the terrorist Sayyaf Al-Qurayshi was planning to blow himself up with an explosive belt in front of the main gate of the Anti-Terrorism Service building before New Year's Eve with the help of the second terrorist, Abu Ja’far, They were also planning to detonate a car bomb by remote control in front of the Asayish Ain Kawa building.
As for the second network, according to the statement, it was composed of the terrorist (Musa Ismail Alwan Ismail), known as (Ya’qub), and the terrorist (M.A.H), who lived in the al-Hol camp and participated in the killing of many citizens inside the camp, pointing out that these two terrorists came forward, and moved to the city of Erbil in 2022, and they were planning to carry out terrorist operations and assassinations in the city of Erbil, under the direction of ISIS leaders.
