Afrin… Al-Amshat faction seizes real estate belonging to a Kurdish civilian in Afrin region
ARK News... The Al-Amshat faction of the National Army in the Afrin region of Syrian Kurdistan seized real estate belonging to a Kurdish civilian, according to an ARK source reported on Sunday, January 8, 2023.
The seized real estate consists of a house and six shops in the village of Husê of Mabata town, and it belongs to the late Hanan Mannan Abdo, noting that his brother is still in the village.
The source confirmed that the gunmen seized the real estate by force of arms and refused to hand it over to his brother.
Kurdish activists confirm that thousands of similar cases of the seizure of real estate and property of the Kurds, including agricultural land, houses, cars, tractors, agricultural machinery, factories, olive presses, and shops, occurred at the beginning of the war in 2018 in the region. Although the committee formed under the name of Redress of Grievances restored a few of the rights of the Kurds, the seizures continue, especially since the committee announced its dissolution last year.
