Iran arrests a famous chef… A kebab dish was prepared on the anniversary of Soleimani's killing

ARK News… On the anniversary of Soleimani’s assassination every year, Iranian opponents of the regime have been publishing pictures of the cutlet dish, in reference to the manner in which the commander of the Quds Force was assassinated.

Iranian human rights organizations, Thursday, announced that the security forces in Iran have arrested, as part of their suppression of the protests rocking the country, the famous chef, Nawaab Ibrahimi, who is followed by millions on social media.

The human rights organization "Harana" said that Ibrahimi was taken to Evin prison in Tehran.

It was not immediately clear why the chef, who has 2.7 million followers on Instagram, watched videos in which he easily explains how to prepare the most delicious recipes of traditional Iranian cuisine, was arrested.

"Preparing the cutlet"
However, surfers on the Internet said that his arrest took place after he posted on his Instagram account a video clip of how to prepare "cutlet", the traditional Iranian dish similar to kebabs and its texture, especially minced meat.

According to them, Ibrahimi published this recipe on the same day that Tehran commemorated the assassination of Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force in the Revolutionary Guards, three years ago, in an American air strike in Iraq.

On the anniversary of Soleimani's assassination every year, Iranian opponents of the regime have been publishing pictures of the cutlet dish, referring to the manner in which this general was assassinated in a raid launched by an American drone.

In turn, the New York-based Center for Human Rights in Iran said, "Chef and influencer Nawaab Ibrahimi was arrested in Tehran."

Social media users hypothesize that his arrest is related to his explanation on Instagram of "how to prepare a traditional kebab dish."

The non-governmental human rights organization did not provide any other details regarding this recipe, and Ibrahimi’s Instagram account is no longer available to view the aforementioned video.

In a tweet on Twitter, Iranian director and photographer Nik Yousefi, who was arrested in October before being released later, said that Ibrahimi had been arrested, and his café in Tehran called "Noj" was closed.

At a time when the Iranian authorities were organizing various ceremonies to commemorate the killing of Soleimani, opponents of them were publishing videos and pictures on the Internet of protesters setting fire to banners in various Iranian regions with the general's image on them.

Continuous protests
Iran is witnessing a protest movement that erupted on September 16, following the death of the 22-year-old Iranian Kurdish woman, Mahsa Amini, after she was arrested by the morality police in Tehran.

Hundreds were also killed, including dozens of members of the security forces, during the protests, which included raising slogans against the authorities. Thousands were also arrested on the sidelines of the movements, which Iranian officials consider a large part of as "riots" behind which Iran's "enemies" stand.
