ARK News... The Syrian Network for Human Rights condemned the death of the Kurdish civilian, Hassan Ali Hassan, in the prisons of the Syrian regime in Aleppo in late December 2022.

A source close to the family made statements to ARK that Hassan Ali Hassan Agha, who is 47 years old, lost his life in the prisons of the Syrian regime in the city of Aleppo, where he was arrested two months ago at the Air Force Intelligence checkpoint in the city of Aleppo. Pointing out that the charges brought against him, which caused his arrest, are flimsy and invalid, and he has no connection with either the Kurdish parties or the opposition.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights condemned all practices of arrest and torture carried out by the Syrian regime forces and called for an immediate, independent investigation into all incidents of arrest and torture that took place, especially this barbaric incident. It also called for all those involved to be held accountable, from those who ordered it to the perpetrators it has to inform the Syrian society of the results of the investigation and accountability, to expose and dismiss all those involved in the practices of detention and torture over all the past years, and to compensate all the victims for the material and moral damage they were subjected to.

The private source confirmed that the psychological and physical torture and health neglect caused him to develop diabetes inside the prison, and two days before his death, his health deteriorated, and he was transferred from the prison to the medical clinic, where he died. The source indicated that after the body was transferred to Manbij, the family received the body, and then it was transferred to Afrin in return for paying $900.

The Kurdish civilian is from the village of Sanare in the Shiye town of the city of Afrin in Syrian Kurdistan, and he used to live in Afrin and work in the al-Hal market in the city.
