ARK News… A Kurdish politician revealed that the Turkish president's request to hold a tripartite meeting between the presidents of Russia, Turkey, and Bashar al-Assad is due to reasons related to Turkey's domestic and foreign policy.

During his participation in the Rebaz Radio newsletter, on Saturday, December 17, 2022, the Kurdish politician, Dr. Muhammad Jumaan, said: The weakness of the international position, especially America, prompted Turkey to escalate its threat to launch a military operation on the areas under the control of the SDF and to remove it 30 kilometers from its borders, according to an agreement of Sochi in 2019.

Dr. Muhammad Jumaan added: Turkey's internal and external policy, especially the unstable internal situation in Turkey, forces it to find a quick solution to return the Syrian refugees residing in Turkey to Syria and to return the Syrian regime's militants to the border areas, so Erdogan requested a tripartite meeting to achieve what Turkey is planning.

Regarding Russian mediation in the rapprochement between the Syrian regime and Turkey, the Kurdish politician said: Russia has goals and objectives in playing a mediating role in the Turkish rapprochement with the Syrian regime, including strengthening Russian influence in the region, protecting Russia's economic and political interests with Turkey, returning other regions to the control of the Syrian regime, especially oil wells and gas fields.

Dr. Muhammad Jumaan confirmed: Turkey and Russia, with this rapprochement, are sending messages to the international coalition, especially America, saying that they have a major role in resolving the Syrian crisis, and they cannot be bypassed in this matter.
