An informed source had revealed to ARK: The journalist was arrested on the 2nd of this month at one in the afternoon, as an armed group stormed the headquarters of Rudaw channel in the city of Qamishlo, and in the presence of Fahd Sabri and the artist Safkan Orkesh, arrested journalist Barzan Farman, and took him to an unknown destination.

He added: "Despite his family's review of the headquarters and institutions of the PYD administration, the attempts were unsuccessful. He added: The group that arrested al-Safhi confirmed that they would interrogate him for one hour and release him later."

The source confirmed: "The headquarters of the channel - from which the license to practice work was withdrawn - is located in front of the United Nations headquarters in the city, and the cameras are placed in front of the headquarters, but the Asayish PYD did not reveal the identity of the gunmen through surveillance cameras."
