President Barzani, congratulating the Yezidi Kurds: I hope they celebrate in peace and quiet

ARK News... President Masoud Barzani, on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, congratulated the Yezidi Spiritual Council and all Yezidi Kurds in Kurdistan and the world, on the occasion of the Forty days of the summer.

"I hope that the Yezidi brothers and sisters will celebrate all religious holidays and occasions in peace and tranquility, and I wish them a happy and blessed Eid," President Barzani said in a congratulatory message.

The Yezidis celebrate eight holidays annually, including Sarsal (New Year), Chêlî Havînê (the Forty days of summer), Chêlî Zifistanê (the Forty days of winter), Qurban (Adha), and Khider Elias.

The Chêlî Havînê holiday (the forty days of summer), on July 31, passed which the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq declared an official holiday for three days for the Yezidi Kurdish employees.
