Ministry of Peshmerga: "Insulting a Peshmerga by the Popular Mobilization is totally unacceptable and rejected"

The Ministry of Peshmerga, on Saturday evening, July 23, 2022, said that a detachment of the Popular Mobilization insulted one of its members in an "ugly" manner and with "inappropriate" actions far from all norms and laws.

The Ministry of Peshmerga said in a statement that "in an unwanted incident, a detachment of the Popular Mobilization attacked the Peshmerga (Ayman Abdi Jassim), a member of the Peshmerga - the 9th Infantry Brigade of the Ministry of Peshmerga, as this detachment insulted him in a very ugly way away from all norms and laws, and they did inappropriate things to him.”

"From here, we declare that this act is totally unacceptable and rejected, and we call on the security services in Kirkuk to form an immediate investigation committee in this regard, to arrest the accused and bring them to justice so that no one will repeat such heinous acts," the statement added.

Peshmerga member Ayman Abdi Jassim told Kurdistan 24 that the Popular Mobilization Detachment pulled his pistol, shaved his mustache, broke his nose, and directed a torrent of insults at him.
