ARK News… Swedish ambassador to Iraq, Jonas Lofven, stressed that the repeated missile attacks on the economic infrastructure of the Kurdistan Region represent a "warning bell" about Iraq's security and stability.

"We strongly condemn these attacks ... and they are absolutely unacceptable," Swedish Ambassador Jonas Lovin said on the sidelines of a press conference held in the independent Soran administration.

"These terrorist attacks are carried out by terrorist groups and militias loyal to neighboring countries...These attacks are a wake-up call," Lovin added.

He pointed out that the seriousness of the attacks reflected on the stability of the security and the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, adding, "We are concerned about their continuation and hope that they will not be repeated."

This comes at a time when the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, has begun mobilizing the international community to deter repeated missile attacks on the region's national facilities.

The Kurdistan Region has recently been subjected to Katyusha rockets and drone attacks, especially on the Khor Mor field in Sulaimaniyah and before that on an oil well in Erbil.

Kurdistan Region accuses outlaw Iraqi armed groups of carrying out the attacks, while officials linked missile strikes on economic infrastructure to the Federal Court's decision against the oil and gas law approved by Parliament in 2007 in the region.

Last Sunday, the United States condemned the repeated attacks on the Kurdistan Region and said that these operations are aimed at undermining stability in Iraq.
