Contents of the meeting with President Barzani:

At the outset, Muhammad Ismail, a member of the Presidential Body of the Kurdish National Council in Syria, and the administrative offices of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, spoke about the content of the meeting of the Kurdish National Council with President Masoud Barzani, saying: We exchanged views on the Syrian situation in general and the Kurdish situation in Syrian Kurdistan in particular, and we showed him the latest details and the latest developments in the situation of the Kurdish people in Syrian Kurdistan and the tragedies and difficulties they face.

Ismail continued: During the meeting, President Barzani presented his observations and recommendations related to the situation of the Kurdish people in Syria, stressing the need for the steadfastness of the Kurdish citizens and people and not to emigrate and leave their country.

Regarding the situation of the Kurdish refugees in the Kurdistan Region, the Kurdish leader confirmed that they handed the presidency a list of problems facing them, especially those with residency permits and other service matters related to refugees. In turn, President Barzani stressed that the issues that can be resolved within the powers of the Kurdistan Region can be resolved, while matters related to the federal government are beyond the government's power.

Convening the Council its conference and reforms in the new structure?

The Kurdish leader added: The Kurdish National Council is a real gain for the Kurdish people in Syrian Kurdistan, and its conference will be held as soon as possible, and they have finished their meetings in the Kurdistan Region with all the heads of the parties within the Council, meetings inside Syrian Kurdistan will also begin to make final arrangements for holding the conference in Syrian Kurdistan. He added: The council will witness reform and a change in the new structure, such as involving other independents, organizations, women's and youth activities, and other parties, representing all Kurdish regions in Syrian Kurdistan.

Will the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria hold its conference?

The Kurdish leader confirmed that arrangements are underway for the convening of the Kurdish National Council conference in Syria, and they are now busy with that, and after the Council conference is finished, they will start making additional arrangements for holding the party conference as well.

Entry of "Jabhat Al-Nusra to Afrin"

About the Council's position on the recent events in Afrin, such as the control of "Jabhat al-Nusra" over several villages in the area, he said: The factions present there are in constant conflict, as a council, our position is clear and explicit regarding the violations committed against the Kurdish people there and in any other region, and the control of "Tahrir al-Sham", i.e. the former Jabhat Al-Nusra, is nothing but a pressure card and messages between the warring parties with the aim of implementing their interests. Noting: The Council is not only concerned with Afrin and the violations and abuses that are taking place in it, but the international parties, the opposition and the Syrian Coalition of Revolutionary Forces, and all Syrians are concerned with what is happening in Afrin, we are all concerned with the events that are taking place and we will spare no effort to defend the grievances of our people.

Syria is on the verge of serious change

Muhammad Ismail indicated that the Syrian situation is on the verge of serious changes and the field and political moves that are taking place, such as the Russian withdrawal in Syria, reducing its role, the Iranian expansion, the Jordanian position, and the Turkish threats to obtain other areas in exchange for Iranian expansion, also, the American silence and its unclear position indicate that there must be a consensus among regional parties such as America, Russia and other players (Turkey and Iran) to find a specific formula that satisfies everyone.

Three obsessions

At the end of a recent conversation, he emphasized that there are serious concerns about three things: The return of the regime to the Kurdish areas, the Turkish threats of another military operation, and thus the displacement of the Kurds, in addition to the presence of the PKK in the region, and it is necessary to find a participatory administration managed by all parties to establish security and establish stability.
