President Masoud Barzani offered condolences on the departure of a Peshmerga of the Aylul and Gulan revolutions, Aref Amin, known (Kulbagh), said of him: He was truly a stubborn nationalist fighter in Kurdistan and in his Koya region, where he devoted his life to the freedom and prosperity of his people, and his departure had a great loss. The text of the message stated:

We received with great sadness and sorrow the news of the departure of the Peshmerga fighter Rafiq Aref Amin, known as Kulbagh, who participated in the Aylul and Gulan revolutions, held the eternal Barzani Medal, and was truly a stubborn nationalist fighter in Kurdistan and in his Koya region, where he devoted his life for the freedom and prosperity of his people, and for his departure is a big loss.
With this great affliction, we share your sorrows and sympathize with ourselves, the family of the deceased, their relatives, acquaintances of Kulbagh, all the Peshmerga and the fighters of Kurdistan, asking Almighty God to bless the late Kulbagh with His vast mercy and dwell in His vast paradise and inspire everyone patience and solace.
