ARK News… The Kurdistan Region Security Council, on Monday, affirmed that any aggression against the region will have a heavy price, blaming the federal government for the responsibility to protect Iraq's sovereignty and put an end to outlaw groups.

The Kurdistan Region Security Council said in a statement that "an outlaw group called (the Iraqi Resistance Coordination Committee), which we fully know who encourages it, made baseless accusations and threatened the Kurdistan Region in a statement."

The statement added, "These threats are not new, and these groups have done so far in different regions of Iraq what they can with the machinations of foreign powers, and the outcome of that for Iraq was mere destruction and chaos."

The Council stressed by saying: "We announce that any aggression against the Kurdistan Region, which is a constitutional entity in Iraq, will have a heavy price.".

"These outlaw groups pose a threat to Iraq's sovereignty and security, and have paved the way for the growth of terrorism and extremist ideology," the statement said.

"The Iraqi army and the Peshmerga are working together against the terrorists, and these groups are concerned with plotting and spreading chaos and destruction," it added.

The Kurdistan Region Security Council concluded its statement by saying: "The federal government is responsible for protecting Iraqi sovereignty and putting an end to this violation of sovereignty and hostilities."
