ARK News… After a Kurdish mountaineer from Duhok governorate managed to reach the summit of Everest, which is 8,848 meters above sea level and raise the flag of Kurdistan on the highest mountain peak in the world, he was blinded.
Rejin Ahmed, the wife of Kurdish mountaineer Range Omar, who managed to raise the flag of Kurdistan on the highest mountain peak in the world, told BasNews that Range has lost his sight due to cold and snow when he was on Mount Everest, which is 8,848 meters above sea level.
Rejin said, "Range's health condition deteriorated and he was lowered from the mountain by helicopter, and he is currently receiving treatment in a hospital in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, in the intensive care unit."
She added, "I spoke with Range, and I learned that he lost his left eye, while his right eye was damaged by a blurring, and he is currently receiving treatment, and we hope that he will return to the land of Kurdistan in peace as soon as possible.
Range Omar, a Kurdish mountaineer from Duhok governorate, started his journey two months ago to reach the summit of Mount Everest and erected the Kurdistan flag, which was given to him by the president Masoud Barzani, on the top of the mentioned mountain.
