Statement on the Conference of the European Representation of the Syrian Kurdistan Writers Union

ARK News… The representation of the Syrian Kurdistan Writers Union in Europe on Saturday, May 14, 2022, held its second conference in the Avesta Hall in the German city of Oberhausen, under the title “Afrin Zaytuna Kurdistan” with the participation of many writers, intellectuals and those interested in cultural affairs, delegations of Kurdish parties, Kurdish associations and organizations.

The conference began with a minute of silence for the souls of the martyrs of the Kurds and Kurdistan with the Kurdish national anthem “Ey Reqîb”.

Writer and journalist Dilbirin Shangali welcomed the attendees, and later on, several speeches were delivered at the ceremony, including: the speech of Professor Sabri Rasoul, head of the representative office of the Union in Europe, and the speech of professor Jamil Ibrahim, representing the delegation of the General Union of Kurdish Writers and Journalists in Syria, and a speech by the journalist writer Inayat Diko, and a speech by the Kurdish writers in the Caucasus and the former Soviet Republics were presented by the poet and writer Kuhar Mamo and the speech of Mr. Saifuddin, President of the Kurdish Avesta Association (Host Hall), in their words, everyone emphasized the importance and necessity of hard work and cooperation between cultural frameworks at a most dangerous stage in the history of the Kurds, then a documentary film was shown on the most important stations of the Union since its founding and until today, presented by the writer and journalist Barzan Hussein and the richest brilliant artist Zubair Saleh with artist Masoud Shangali with musical clips and beautiful Kurdish songs. The conference received several telegrams of congratulations.

After the opening session was completed, the organizational session was held with the participation of the members of the Union. Several organizational decisions were taken to activate the appropriate form of the new administration, taking into account the conditions of members in the diaspora countries, the election of a new administrative body, and the unanimous election of professor Sabri Rasoul as head of the representation.
