ARK News… Ja’far Eminki, a member of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, confirmed, on Wednesday, that the conditions of Shingal (Sinjar) are unstable, and that the people are unable to remove the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) from the region.

Ja’far Eminki told BasNews: "There is an unstable situation in Shingal, and we want to return to Shingal and Bashiqa, but the situation is not favorable because of the occupation of Shingal by the PKK."

He added, "We do not go anywhere with the intention of fighting. We in the Kurdistan Democratic Party go for the purpose of reconstruction, with the aim of civil and political activity, and we are not advocates of fighting, and we do not want confrontations to erupt between the people and the PKK or other forces."

A member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party's Political Bureau indicated that "there is no specific date for the party's return to Shingal. Our return is linked to the steps taken by the next Iraqi government towards normalizing the conditions of Shingal.

He added, "We have reopened our headquarters in Mosul, and we will reopen our headquarters in Bashiqa, and we have completed our preparations for that, but in Shingal, the situation is not favorable."

This comes as Erbil and Baghdad signed an agreement more than a year ago to normalize the conditions of Shingal under the auspices of the United Nations and America, but the PKK obstructs the implementation of this agreement.
