A press statement regarding the attack on the sit-in and rising prices of fuel and bread

ARK News… We in the Peace and Freedom Front view with unease the decision of the Autonomous Administration to raise the prices of fuel and bread in light of the deteriorating living conditions for all of our Syrian people in the areas under the administration’s control and affirms that such a decision has negative repercussions and creates a wave of displacement, in addition to the emergence of a state of resentment and denunciation among public opinion in the areas of the Autonomous Administration, so we call for it to reverse its decision immediately, and in return, it works to provide these main materials in the markets at subsidized prices.

The whole of our Syrian people is now living in harsh and difficult economic and living conditions, in addition to the psychological and economic effects as a result of the devastation caused by the war in our country, the decision to raise the price of diesel, and the news came - the straw that broke the camel's back - as this increase will necessarily lead to an increase in the prices of the rest of the basic goods and services for citizens, due to the lack of legal controls that control the market, and at a time when our people are suffering from the repercussions of the Corona pandemic and the drought that has pervaded our regions.

We are in the Peace and Freedom Front at a time when we condemn and denounce the unjustified price hike by the Autonomous Administration, we call on this administration to reverse its unjust decision, to stop imposing taxes and royalties on citizens, to listen to the voice of the street rejecting these practices, and to think seriously about living citizens and support commodities and basic materials.

The Front also expresses its support and solidarity with the demands of the masses of our steadfast people, and the need to meet them immediately. It also strongly condemns the barbaric behavior of the so-called “Revolutionary Youth” through attacking with sticks and uttering treasonous slogans against the demonstrators and political leaders and assaulting them by beating them in front of the security and order forces (Asayish).
