ARK News… The Consulate General of France in Erbil has strongly condemned Saturday's drone attack on Erbil, the capital of Kurdistan Region, reiterating its support for the autonomous region, according to a statement.

A couple of explosive-laden drones targeted Erbil International Airport, where the US-led Coalition forces are stationed, on Saturday night, leaving no casualties or material damages, official statements have confirmed.

"The Consulate General of France in Erbil condemns in the strongest terms the drone attack that took place last night on Erbil international airport," reads a statement by the general consulate published on Twitter.

It also "assures the Kurdistan Regional Government of its solidarity and support," the statement continued, warning that such attacks on the sovereignty of Iraq and the stability of the Kurdistan Region are unacceptable.

The French Consulate General, in the meantime, called for an "increased coordination" between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Iraqi federal government to put an end to "such acts of destabilization and to identify their perpetrators, in the interest of the security of all Iraqis."

The drone attack on Erbil was also condemned by the Consulate Generals of the US and UK earlier the day, pointing out that the two countries remain committed to supporting the Kurdistan Region.

"We strongly condemn yesterday’s drone attack in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region. These continued attacks are a threat to Iraq’s sovereignty and stability," US Consulate General said in a statement published on its official Twitter page.

The UK Consulate General, in a similar statement, denounced the attack on the Kurdish airport and stressed: "These threats to the KRI [Kurdistan Region of Iraq] must end, but our support for the KRG will continue until they do and long after."
