ARK News… A delegation from the European Representation of the Kurdish National Council in Syria - the Locality of Norway at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs met the new office for the Syrian file, Tor Martin, and the official for the Iraq file, Ms. Hilda.

The council’s delegation consisted of Mahmoud Biro, head of the locality, Rangin Mohammad, deputy head of the locality, and Mahmoud Minla, member of the Administrative Committee.

After introducing the delegation, Mr. Tor Martin introduced himself and explained his new work and assignment in the Foreign Office.

The Kurdish delegation provided a detailed explanation of the file of violations taking place in the Kurdish regions, including the kidnapping of minor Kurdish children, the arrest of youth, media professionals and politicians, and the killing under torture in prisons, where the delegation called on the Foreign Ministry officials to take a clear and explicit stance against these inhumane violations against the Kurdish people in Syria, as well as against the Turkish attacks and occupation of the Kurdish areas.
The delegation of the Council also demanded more attention and focus on the file of the Syrian Kurds in international forums and to provide the necessary support for it, as it is a just and legitimate democratic cause.

In their conversation with representatives of the Foreign Ministry, the delegation focused on the groups coming from outside the Syrian borders and intensified efforts against their repressive practices and the international demand to expel them and pursue political and diplomatic activity against terrorism in our Kurdish region and Syria in general.

On their part, the ministry's delegation affirmed that they are following the situation very seriously and expressed their full readiness for good communication and joint action to serve the cause of democracy, human rights, and the protection of children throughout Syria in accordance with international law and within the available constitutional and legal frameworks.
