Latest statistic: "300 families returned to Afrin"

Activist Rebar Ahmed, a resident of the area, said in exclusive statements to ARK, on Tuesday, August 17, 2021: According to the latest statistics, 300 Kurdish families have returned from al-Shahba camps in Aleppo countryside and neighborhoods of Aleppo, since the blessed Eid al-Adha until today, the last of which is the return of fifty families in the past two days.

In this regard, Abdul Rahman Apo, a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, said in previous statements to ARK: Two hundred and fifty Kurdish families have recently returned to the city of Afrin and its towns and villages. It is worth noting that a number of Kurdish families returned on foot from the al-Shahba camps to the land of forefathers.

The Democratic Union Party (PYD) has controlled the al-Shahba areas in the countryside of Aleppo, including five camps for the displaced of the Afrin region since 2018, it has been working to prevent the return of the displaced to Afrin on the pretext that its gunmen will liberate the area. While Afrin came under the control of Turkey and the armed factions on March 18, 2018, after battles that lasted for 58 days with the PYD militants. Politicians are urging the displaced to return to prevent any demographic change in the area.
