The Ministry of Health stated in a statement that it had developed a "new plan" to treat patients infected with the epidemic, by allocating another hospital to receive the injured in the city.
The ministry expressed its regret at the escalation of the number of injured, and said that until twelve o'clock midnight, "the largest number of infected people has been recorded."
The ministry pointed out that what was recorded is "a very large number, and most of the injured are in Duhok Governorate."
The Ministry of Health had previously said that the epidemiological situation in the Kurdistan Region was "still under control", but warned that it might come out due to the population's negligence in preventive measures.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani urged citizens to adhere to health guidelines and receive vaccinations against the outbreak of the epidemic.
