Germany decided to ban PKK and Hamas flags
ARK News… The German parliament approved a legislative package, including a law banning the publication of the flags of organizations classified by the European Union as "terrorist", including the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, which is fighting the Turkish state, and the Hamas Movement, which controls the Gaza Strip.
Late Thursday, the Bundestag adopted a set of security-related texts put forward by Angela Merkel's government. This text is also supposed to be approved by the Bundestag (Senate).
According to the Deutsche Welle TV network, initially, a movement or association had to be banned so that the use of its symbols could be criminalized, but now it is enough to put the organization on the European Union’s terrorist list, such as Hamas or the Kurdistan Workers’ Party.
One of these texts bans the flags of organizations designated as terrorists by the European Union, including Hamas or the Kurdistan Workers' Party. Until now, only banners of banned organizations were banned in Germany.
Another legislative provision prohibits the publication of "enemy lists" in extremist forums, which often contain personal data. Publication of these "lists" will henceforth be punished by three years' imprisonment.
Incitement to hatred of Jews and Muslims as well as against homosexuals and people with disabilities will also be severely punished. To date, messages or emails would not be considered incitement to hatred if they were not made public. The law has closed this loophole.
